3.2.1…And we’re Live! John Deere launches 3D and VR Showroom.

September 2020, Africa-The human desire to create reality, virtually, has driven John Deere Africa, leaders in agricultural equipment, to create a virtual showroom, branch and merchandise store as they embrace 3D and VR’s versatility and power. Today, John Deere Africa launches its first-ever 3D and VR Africa Showroom at Nampo Virtual Harvest Day hosted by Grain SA. Expo visitors will be among the first to witness this top-notch 3D showroom along with the newly transformed 3D Revet John Deere Licensed Merchandise Store which aims to promote and enhance the user shopping experience.

Not only were the equipment models transformed into 3D and VR, but the John Deere Branch interior also provides a virtual user experience including a counter for parts and customer support, and doors leading to the merchandise and sales areas. The branch exterior provides a grass-like look and feel with mowers, gators, planters, and tractors on display allowing the visitor to move between the equipment as they explore the equipment on show.

With cutting edge technology and the latest equipment, John Deere Africa physically 3D scanned more nearly 40 models, to capture the exact size and shape and transform the equipment as a digital 3-dimensional representation. The 3D scanners measured the finest of detail to generate highly accurate 3D points and are richly detailed with data tags and true-to-scale views allowing customers to view and rotate equipment 360 degrees or view in virtual reality whilst wearing Google Cardboard or other VR viewers.

The Africa Showroom website includes the four new products being launched daily by John Deere at               Nampo Virtual. Along with the launch models,  the showroom site includes agricultural products like tractors, planters, harvesting equipment, sprayers, golf and turf equipment, hay and forage and more plus an interactive page with competitions, a win & spin, puzzles, a word search, and links to the Tech Terrain Episodes and the BoerPot Podcast Series.

“The showroom presents a significant seamless advantage to farmers who would like to view John Deere equipment without physical limitations,” says Stephan Nel, John Deere Marketing Manager Africa. “It aids in effectively displaying the models to the customer as one would feel immersed as if the models were in front of you.”

The management team at John Deere is geared up to launch the 8R, 7R, 6M, and 6B tractors throughout the four days at Nampo Virtual, and will be offering promotions and merchandise specials as well as facilitating  Q&As with executives and experts. There are daily prizes to be won which will run via the

John Deere  Nampo Virtual Facebook Event page. The expo takes place from today, Wednesday 9th until

12 September 2020, and is free for all visitors who register via the Nampo Virtual websit e.

“Our showroom allows our customers  to step inside our John Deere Branch and equipment showroom floor from any device and we trust this will promote engagement and interaction rather than only viewing a static image of our products,” says Jacques Taylor John Deere Managing Director Africa, and the Middle East. “We encourage expo visitors to attend the daily Zoom webinars and watch our daily product launches plus please leave comments at our Nampo stand or on our Africa Showroom website via the “Chat with Us” page or visitors can engage with any of our social media platforms, we would love to hear from you.”
